Throughout this year, we’ve been working hard to fulfill your wishes on how to improve the Barkio app. We’ve been carefully listening to your feedback and turning your ideas into new, genuinely useful features. Thanks to you, Barkio has grown into a more powerful and user-friendly dog monitor than ever before.
In 2025, Barkio received 9 updates packed with new features, improvements, and bug fixes. Here’s a look back at what we’ve achieved together this year. 🐾
One of the biggest additions this year is AI Barking detection. Unlike basic noise detection, this feature focuses on what’s really important – your dog’s barking.
Barkio can now better distinguish barking from everyday sounds around your home and alert you only when your dog actually barks. Barking events are also saved in the Activity log, so you can easily see how often and how long your dog was barking.

We also redesigned the Activity log to make it easier to understand what happens when you’re away.
Monitoring sessions are now more clearly organized by time of day — morning, afternoon, evening, and night — so you can instantly see when something happened and spot patterns in your dog’s routine.
For each session, Barkio automatically tracks rest, noise, movement, and barking. These per-session statistics give you a quick overview of how calm or active your dog was.

Connecting your devices is now faster and simpler than before. This year, we introduced QR code pairing, so you can link your Barkio devices in seconds — just scan the QR code and you’re ready to monitor. It’s an instant, secure and very user-friendly way to connect your devices, without the need to type or copy long codes.

Short connection drops can happen, but longer outages shouldn’t be missed. That’s why we improved connection loss alerts.
You can now adjust when Barkio should notify you about a connection issue and choose to be reminded again if the problem continues. This way, you stay informed, but only when it truly matters.

The Every Noise feature has been refined to make sound monitoring more comfortable and intuitive. The audio visualizer no longer covers the video, so you can see your dog and hear every noise at the same time.
This gives you much clearer context for each sound — you don’t just see how loud it is, but also what your dog is doing at that moment, which makes it easier to understand and react to the situation.

...such as the continual improvement of video quality or performance optimizations for the latest devices.
Thank you for being with us throughout the year. We are glad that you send us your opinions and feedback on features or ideas on how to improve the app. Together, we've managed to make Barkio better than ever before. We hope to turn as many requests and wishes of yours into features next year as well Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Barkio team.
So, which of the new features is your favorite? Tell us about it in the Facebook community or send us an email via support@barkio.com.
